I am an immunopathology-focused cancer researcher investigating the role of large oncosomes (LOs), an atypical class of extracellular vesicles, as active drivers of tumor progression and metastasis. My work centers on understanding how EV-mediated intercellular communication reshapes the tumor microenvironment, promotes inflammatory and immune-modulatory signaling, and supports metastatic colonization, particularly in prostate cancer. Using integrated molecular, cellular, and translational approaches, I study how LO cargo influences stromal and immune responses in distant tissues. I have contributed to the molecular characterization of LOs through a multi-omic framework, including the first application of single-LO RNA sequencing. Building on this foundation, my current research examines the functional role of LOs in bone metastatic niche formation and immune reprogramming. My long-term goal is to translate mechanistic insights into strategies that may prevent or disrupt metastatic progression in advanced prostate cancer.
