BIO
Dr. Koronyo-Hamaoui investigates innate immune mechanisms of CNS repair and develops immunomodulatory therapies for Alzheimer’s disease (AD). We pioneer retina-based pathology research and noninvasive retinal amyloid imaging to enable early screening and treatment monitoring. Our lab probes bacterial infection, NLRP3 inflammasome-driven gliosis, proteinopathy, vascular injury, synaptic vulnerability and neurodegeneration in AD patient retinas and establishes their relationship with brain pathology and cognition.
