BIO
Ignat Printsev, PhD, is a senior drug discovery scientist in the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Drug Discovery and Development unit. His work focuses on identifying and validating therapeutic targets for inflammatory bowel disease and using patient genetics, primary samples, and disease-relevant cellular models to support personalized medicine approaches. His research expertise spans molecular and cellular biology, protein production, primary-cell and cell-line models, and the discovery and evaluation of therapeutic modalities. He also applies emerging agentic artificial intelligence tools to develop computational workflows for bioinformatic analysis, molecular modeling, and de novo small-molecule discovery. Printsev received his PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of California, Davis, and completed postdoctoral research at the California Institute of Technology under Alexander Varshavsky, PhD.
